We secretly asked a Christian magician to “appear” at the café. He sent me an e-mail about his time there. This is totally cool! Enjoy!
Hi Tim,
I wanted to let you know how it went last Wednesday at the Cafe.
First of all, the people who are working at Cafe 41:11 are top notch. They greeted me right away and allowed me to meet and entertain people as God provided. As you know, there are all ages and types of people at the Cafe, and the volunteers were helpful and courteous to all of the guests. I did a combination of card and coin tricks with a splash of other things tossed in. This drew a crowd of middle school and high school age young adults. Many of them stayed with me the entire 90 minutes I was there!
Because the students hung with me for a period of time, I was able to share some of my life with them and they shared their life with me. Two people, in particular, told me about their frustrations as well as their dreams. I was able to relate and encourage them, with the emphasis that Jesus is the key! He was, and is, the only true power for any of our lives.
One of the kids asked, “Are you doing real magic?”
I simply smiled and told him, “I use tricks, but God is the only One that had real power. Only Jesus can do the impossible.”
What an opportunity you all have to touch lives for Christ. You help people in a real tangible way. God bless you all. Hope to see you again soon.
Your Brother in Christ,
Jim

Re: magic
Timbo,
Often, I feel disconnected from you and your ministry at the Cafe. The emails bring it alive! I feel as if I am sitting at the counter observing all that God is doing through you, your volunteers, as well as your guest artists. Thank you - keep writing!
I love you, Mom

Re: magic
Can't wait to have dinner later. I'm glad the e-mail stories bring the cafe and all that God is doing close to home. Love, Your Favorite Son
