We had the blessing of being asked to share the ministry of Cafe 41:11 at the
Buckeye Ministerial Association's ecumenical service in Valley City at St. Martin of
Tours Church last night.
It was the biggest group I have ever spoken in front of, I was nervous. As I
listened to the message "being thankful for a mess after a party because it means
you have lots of friends and for taxes because it means you have a job, etc, they
were such good reminders of how much we really have to be thankful for. I have to
admit I really needed it since holidays just get harder and harder for me. Then the
joint choir of the 5-6 churches that are part of the association sang gloriously. I
was calmed as I remembered these were my brothers and sisters in Christ, all there
to glorify God and be thankful.
And they were very generous, over $900 was donated to help the Cafe 41:11 ministry.
Afterwards as we fellow-shipped over cookies and drinks, everyone was friendly,
encouraging and thankful for our work in the community as well. I hope some come to
visit us and some will feel the passion to volunteer with us. And when all was said
and done, I felt blessed for being able to be there and be part of their gathering.
God is sooo good!
