Three teens walk into a cafe. (No...this is not the intro to a not-so-funny joke.) Two of the teens have been to the cafe before. They decided to bring a new friend who just moved to Medina from Akron. I threw a few slices of left over pizza at them and served up some kool-aid. I welcomed the new student to Medina and we spent some time talking about Medina schools, eating cold pizza, and laughing. It was a blast!
Eventually these three Musketeers needed to get going. I assumed they were heading out on their rusted steeds (bikes) on some great adventure. I said goodbye and they were out the door. Twenty minutes later, they came back to the cafe.
"We got something for ya," says one Musketeer through a great big smile.
"You did?" I ask.
He rustled through a plastic grocery bag and pulled out four individual packs of Ramen noodles and two boxes of popsicles.
"We thought you could use these for the cafe," says the second Musketeer. "We saw 'em at the store and it was only like $2.50 for everything!"
"Yeah," the third musketeer exclaims. "We couldn't believe how cheap it was so we thought we'd buy it for the cafe!"
"Awesome, guys! Thank you so much. Anyone want a popsicle?"
The three Musketeers simultaneously raised their sabers in the air shouting, "SURE!"
One Musketeer even slapped his hand down on the counter with great enthusiasm saying, "Serve 'em up."
I ripped open the popsicles and we spent a few more minutes just hanging out before they had to go.
I never asked these young men to give. I simply welcomed them and served them. And they...served me.

Re: musketeers
It was God-work baby! He is so good and worthy of our trust. He promises to provide even as we give and sacrifice. He proves this everyday and in nearly every moment of my life.
I pray He does the same for our supporters and partners as they give and sacrifice for the work of the Gospel.
Thanks for your comment!

"The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28).
