Kids of all ages were given the opportunity to decorate and eat some tasty holiday treats yesterday at Cafe 41:11. Kris Wilkinson, a member of Weymouth Community Church, spent all day baking and preparing Christmas cookies for our guests. It was a messy, fun, loud afternoon with some of Medina's young people. The Cafe Team wishes to thank Kris for her hard work and generosity. If you missed it, we invite you to nibble on these pictures!

A white bearded man held a little sign in his hand. He stood just outside Cafe 41:11 hoping to catch a ride from busy commuters. (Maybe you've seen him on your travels about town?) At first glance I thought, Ole St. Nick's driver's license must be suspended? I walked outside and asked him where he was headed.
"I'm going to Giant Eagle to get some food."
"Do you know about our cafe?"
"No," he repl ...

According to Webster's Dictionary, bang means: "to strike sharply." My friend Ed and I were struck sharply by the Lord last night. It wasn't a violent or negative strike. It was a blessing...from Jesus. I think when we're hit with a blessing it can feel like a grenade exploding in our ha ...

The beginning of the conversation with the guest last week went like this:
I asked this guest, "If you were to di ...

A big thank you goes out to Shelly Rea and Evelyn Crowley for their help with our first Friday Free Work Lunch Program! I had a lot of fun and I couldn’t have made this happen without their help! Shelly made our sandwiches look amazing, and Evelyn neatly served up the soup. Thank you ladies! We served 19 guests and raised $84.00

I thought I'd share some of my most recent musings from my time with the Lord this week. Paul writes, "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared beforehand for us to do" (NIV, Ephesians 2:10).
We are His workmanship. His design. His creation. He has shaped us for good works and for a purpose. This got me thinking...What are the good works He wants us to do?

Three teens walk into a cafe. (No...this is not the intro to a not-so-funny joke.) Two of the teens have been to the cafe before. They decided to bring a new friend who just moved to Medina from Akron. I threw a few slices of left over pizza at them and served up some kool-aid. I welcomed the new student to Medina and we spent some time talking about Medina schools, eat ...
